A month after the Honor 7X came to the US in black and blue, Huawei is launching the smartphone in red in the United States.
This, according to Huawei, was to celebrate the 2018 Valentine’s Day.
It’s also running some kind of Valentine’s Day phone giveaway contest about falling in love, which I urge you not to participate in because it sounds embarrassing.
The red 7X is exactly the same as the black and blue 7X models, except it’s red and really, really stands out. It has a 5.9-inch, 2160 x 1080 display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and thin top and bottom bezels.
The phone has a metal body, dual rear cameras that offer a portrait mode, 32GB of storage, 3GB of RAM, and a pretty substantial 3,340mAh battery. The phone has a mid-range processor, though, and it’ll only work on AT&T and T-Mobile. It’ll sell for $200 and comes out today. That puts it in the same range as the Moto G5 Plus, which has similar specs but not the nice, nearly bezel-free design and metal body.
FYI, Valentine’s Day is in just over a week, and probably all the good restaurants are out of reservations already.
