Chairman of the Local Government Staff Pension Board, Prince Adebayo Fatai Adeyemi has assured pensioners in Oyo State that the Governor Seyi Makinde-led government would be consistent in the regular payment of the gratuity and pension allowances.
He then enjoined the pensioners to continue to propagate the good works of Governor Makinde to all and sundry.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Local Government Staff Pension Board, Alhaji Lukman Akinola Muraina, Adeyemi made the charge on Thursday when the board hosted retired Primary School Teachers and Local government staff who came for the approval of their files either on re-computation or new payrolling of fresh retirees recently.
Many senior citizens converged at the Local Government Staff Pension Board, Water Corporation Building, Oyo State Government Secretariat, Ibadan for their retirement benefit documents which will enable them to begin to enjoy their monthly pension and also to be expectant of their gratuity when it is their turn.
The monthly programme is a means of exhibiting loyalty and support of the senior citizens for the Governor Makinde-led administration.
The programme also involved counselling, prayers for the state government, questions and answers sessions, lectures and advice on various topics such as health, and sharing of experience on life-after services.
In attendance were Executives of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners and traditional rulers, among other dignitaries.
At the end of the exercise, certificates and other documents showing evidence of payment were distributed to the pensioners
