President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana today started a 14-day precautionary self-isolation after coming into contact with an associate who tested positive for the ravaging coronavirus (COVID-19).
This is disclosed in an official statement Saturday by the nation’s Information Ministry.
The Ministry revealed that President Akufo-Addo will begin the precautionary self-isolation measure in according to the COVID-19 protocols because he came into contact with a member of his close circle who was tested positive for the novel ravaging COVID-19
Recall that Ghana has reported not fewer than 19,388 coronavirus cases and confirmed 117 deaths since the ravaging virus broke out in the country.
It is on record that since COVID-19 first appeared in Wuhan, China December 2019, the novel coronavirus has spread to at least 188 countries and regions with 11.2M confirmed cases, 6.03M people revered from the virus and 528K death cases.
The novel virus has also grounded the global economy, however, countries in the world are now gradually being opened up after months of lockdown
