Contrary to media claims as regards the armed robbery attack that claimed the lives of four residents of Alade-Owo Estate community area of Omi-Adio, Ibadan on Friday, that the robbers were trying to escape from the scene of the operation and ‘shot indiscriminately while escaping from the community’.
Adesoye Omotosho, presenter and investigative journalist anchoring Taloye at Legulu 96.7 FM, has debunked the narratives of robbery scene as inconsistence to the true story that led to the third and final strike of the said robbery- which eventually claimed four lives- the Okadaman, Ankuru, the Taxi driver and the old woman who later died out of shock overnight.
In a telephone conversation between Alfa and Omotosho that was made available on air, Alfa reveals “the first time I had an encounter with them was in my shop, while the second time was when I parked into my newly built house, sometimes in October of 2021. I never knew they were thieves, I assumed they were the bike riders at the T-junction, where I have my Pos stand. Ever since the incident, I have been worried about the development because I never told anybody about my new apartment.
Taloye’s investigation reveals that the third robbery incident involving Alfa, the same POS operative. The man shot in his hand was actually going home, despite the fact that he was told about the robbery incident. He insisted that the robbery had nothing to do with him, however, he was shot in his hand deliberately because it was assumed he was going to the police station. The man is not dead, but the wound is indescribable.
The man, whose picture is inscribed with RIP, intended going to a social gathering ‘party’ with his friend, on their way to the tailor’s shop at Omi, leaving behind his motorcycle. They were going on his friend’s motorcycle, while the said robbers assumed that they were being trailed. Eyewitnesses confirmed to Team Taloye that he was shot deliberately, and his friend who escaped from the scene was attacked the following day by unknown people.
