The Governing Council, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, on Friday appointed Prof. Folasade Ogunsola as the first female vice chancellor for the 60-year-old institution.
The 13th vice-chancellor is expected to take over from Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, whose tenure will end on November 11, 2022.
Ogunsola beat 10 professors to emerging the new vice-chancellor.
She was Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development and Services) for two terms under the outgoing VC.
Ogunsola, 64, was also the former Provost. She is also an alumnus of UNILAG.
